The $4.2 million Next Stage Campaign is already transforming what you see on stage: theatre seasons bursting with top talent. What you’ll see next is a renovated auditorium, followed by a brand new thrust stage. You’ll also see more people in the audience with you. If you’re downtown during the day, you’ll see twice as many school buses pulling up to our curb.

Park Square produces more shows than any theatre in town except The Guthrie and Children’s Theatre. What you’ll see next is a wider range of plays – 18 shows on two stages brought to life by more than 100 actors. In addition to our shows, you’ll have the chance to see the work of today’s rising theatre producers.

53,000 people attend 200 performances at Park Square every year. What you’ll see next is an annual audience of more than 86,000. With two stages, you’ll have even more of the variety you love. Between the two stages, we will consistently program a challenging range of contemporary theatre to attract multiple audiences with diverse tastes, including young adult theater goers and daring cultural adventurers of every age. Each performance period will offer a counterpoint of theatre experiences, balancing classics and audience favorites like Sherlock Holmes, with more intimate, grittier or edgier shows.
MORE IMPACT ON SCHOOLS
Park Square’s award-winning student program is bursting at the seams, but there is still more demand from teachers and schools across Minnesota and Wisconsin. What schools will see next is the work they want on two stages. We’ll be able to reach as many as 15,000 additional students each year – opening our doors to junior and senior high students at the same time. This Next Stage audience of 40,000 teens will be among the largest of any theatre in the nation.
